Hi momsy-
Well as you can see I made it! The flight to Sydney actually went surprisingly fast and I slept for a lot of it. Also, I sat next to a girl who is studying at Macquarie too and we really connected so we will for sure be getting together. So Naomi picked us up at the airport and we took a cab to Sydney University (aka Uni- no one says University here). We are staying here for 3 nights for a Sydney orientation and then on Sunday we actually go to where I will be living on campus. It kinda sucks that we aren't there yet... I would love to unpack my stuff and start to make my room homey, but no such luck. Melissa the girl from Madison isn't here yet but we are sharing a room while we are here for 3 nights. So there are only 3 of us from Madison through this program so luckily this boy Trevor was here today w/ me and so we explored the city a little together...actually a lot-- my feet are killing me as I am not used to flips yet! We probably walked about 6 miles and saw the Opera House and Sydney Harbour. We ate lunch, I had a water and a turkey sandwich for 10 dollars--I think I am gonna have to starve myself, everything is so expensive.
It smells and feels so nice here, but unfortunately it was sprinkling today and is supposed to for the next few days. I was really hoping to lay on the beach asap. It's still pretty warm, like 60s, but unseasonably chilly according to Naomi.
ok well i will write and try to skype soon...i don't internet in my room so I can't really use my computer to skype yet.
